Gur prices crash up to Rs 350 a quintal on higher supply

Gur (jaggery) recorded a steep fall by up to Rs 350 per quintal in its prices at the wholesale market in the national capital today following dumping of new stocks amidst reduced offtake by stockists and retailers due to muted demand.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also displayed a weak trend with prices falling by similar margin.
Marketmen said huge stocks on arrivals of new stocks from manufacturing belts, mainly attributed the sharp fall in gur prices.
In Delhi, gur Chakku suffered the most by plunging Rs 350 to Rs 3,350-3,450 per quintal.
Gur dhayya and shakkar prices slumped by Rs 300 each to Rs 3,300-3,500 and Rs 3,600-3,700, while dhayya plummeted by Rs 200 to Rs 3,500-3,600 per quintal.

At Muzaffarnagar gur laddoo nosedived by Rs 350 to Rs 3,150-3,200 and khurpa prices crashed by Rs 250 to Rs 2,800-2,950 per quintal.

Gur chakku also dropped by Rs 200 to finish at Rs 3,050-3,500 per quintal.
In Muradnagar, gur dhayya drifted lower by Rs 250 to Rs 3,000-3,050, while pedi looked down by Rs 150 to Rs 2,950-3,000 per quintal, respectively.

Gur chakku Rs 3,350-3,450, pedi Rs 3,300-3,500, dhayya Rs 3,500-3,600 and shakkar Rs 3,600-3,700.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 3,000-3,050, chakku Rs 3,050-3,500, khurpa Rs 2,800-2,950 and Ladoo Rs 3,150-3,200.
Muradnagar: Pedi Rs 2,950-3,000 and dhayya Rs 3,000-3,050.
