Gur prices hardened by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today following paucity of stocks amid pick-up in demand.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also showed a rise up to Rs 300 per quintal due to scarcity of stocks amid frantic buying.
Marketmen said fall in supply from manufacturing areas due to adverse weather conditions mainly created short supply into the markets and pushed up the gur prices.
Higher demand from neighbouring states also supported the uptrend, they said.
In Delhi, gur Pedi, Dhayya and Chakku prices gained by Rs 100 each to settle at Rs 2900-3000, Rs 3000-3100 and Rs 2900-3000 per quintal, respectively.
At Muzaffarnagar, prominent gainer was gur Ladoo, which shot up by Rs 300 to finish at Rs 2700-2900 per quintal.
Prices of gur Chakkku and Khurpa rose from Rs 2625-2850 and Rs 2450-2500 to Rs 2675-2900 and Rs 2500-2575 per quintal.
