Gurdaspur Lok Sabha by-poll: One nomination filed

An Independent candidate today filed the nomination for the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha by-poll which will take place on October 11.
Independent candidate Pardeep Kumar, resident of Tiyagi Wali Gali here, filed his paper with the returning officer.
"On the fourth day of nominations, one was filed for Gurdaspur parliamentary constituency by-elections," said an official spokesperson.
The Lok Sabha seat fell vacant after the demise of BJP MP Vinod Khanna in April this year. The last date for filling nomination is September 22.
The scrutiny of papers will be done on September 25 and the last date for the withdrawal of the nomination papers is September 27.

The polling will be held on October 11 and counting of votes and result are slated to be announced on October 15.
