The special drive was carried from 10 am to till 7 pm in all areas of the city including the Iffco chowk, Rajeev Chowk, Sohna, DLF, Palam Vihar, MG road, Signature tower, Galleria market, Udyog Vihar, sector-56, old Gurgaon and all major intersections.
"The number of vehicles challaned was around 14,779. The amount of money collected as penalty was around Rs 14,09,700 while the number of vehicles impounded was 156," Gurgaon Police PRO Manish Sehgal told PTI.
During the drive, violators were educated about traffic norms and asked to follow them. They were also sensitised about the hazardous impact of reckless driving, ACP Sehgal added.
