Echoing the horror of the IMT Manesar gangrape less than a month ago, the 35-year-old was found outside 'Chacha Ka Restaurant' in Greater Noida's Golf Links, a long distance from where she had been abducted, at about 4 am when it was still dark.
The woman, who was visiting from Bharatpur in Rajasthan, was walking in Sohna around 8 pm last night when she was pulled into a Swift car by the men.
"We have registered a case in Kasna police station on the complaint of the victim and made three teams which are taking help from the Gurgaon police...," Love Kumar, senior superintendent of police (SSP), Gautam Budh Nagar, told PTI.
"We are examining the spot and sequence of crime from Gurgaon and Greater Noida's Kasna area," Kumar added.
She was taken for medical examination to Yatharth hospital in Greater Noida.
"We are in the process of recording her statements," the officer said.
The woman, who had come to Gurgaon about 10-15 days ago and was staying with family in the Sohna area, told police that the men took turns to rape her in the moving car for at least four to five hours.
They also allegedly threatened her with dire consequences if she approached the police.
She shared the story of what happened with locals who informed police in Gautam Budh Nagar.
"Some beer bottles were also found from the spot which indicates that the accused persons were inebriated at the time," a police officer said.
Gurgaon Police Commissioner Sandeep Khirwar said police teams were examining CCTV footage of major roads in the NCR region to get some clues.
No arrests have been made as yet.
The incidents underscore that women continue to vulnerable in the region, more than four years after the Dec 16, 2012 gangrape and murder of physiotherapy intern Jyoti Pandey.
The incident also puts the spotlight on poor police patrolling, not just in Gurgaon and Greater Noida but also New Delhi where they drove through undetected. PTI CORR.
