A fact-finding committee of the CBSE regional directorate which visited the school on August 24 has concluded that "the student was ragged", officials in the HRD Ministry said.
They, however, said that the committee has not been able to establish whether he attempted suicide.
14-year-old Adarsh Kumar, son of Bihar Cooperative Minister Jai Kumar Singh, has been admitted to a hospital here.
A showcause notice will also be issued to the school under the CBSE affiliation by-laws as ragging is prohibited in the board's schools, the officials said, adding the CBSE report has been presented to the HRD Ministry.
The trio allegedly forced Adarsh to sweep the floor and also used to sometimes punish him asking him to bend down in various positions. They also allegedly beat him up, police have said.
Police have also seized a bed sheet and a ceiling fan from the veranda in front of Adarsh's hostel room. He allegedly tried to hang himself from the fan using the sheet but his feet touched the floor and the fan got unstuck from ceiling, which saved his life.
