A well informed source told PTI that the board had without consulting or informing Hafeez included left-arm spinner Ali Manzoor as the 15th player in the touring squad.
"He is the son of former Pakistan all-rounder, Manzoor Ellahi and has yet to represent Lahore or any other team in national T20 cricket," the source disclosed.
He said although Hafeez was pretty upset with this sudden selection but he had kept quiet because the team was due to leave tonight for New Delhi.
The rest of the 14 players in the Lahore Lions are the same, who played in the national T20 event and won the title to earn the right to represent Pakistan in the Champions League.
Manzoor Ellahi whose two brothers Saleem and Zahoor also represented Pakistan is presently an employee of the cricket board.
