Haier to partner with NorthEast United Football Club

Consumer appliances and electronic goods maker Haier today announced its strategic partnership with the NorthEast United Football Club team today for Indian Super League 2014.
As per the agreement, players of the NorthEast United FC, which is co-owned by Bollywood actor John Abraham would bear Haier's logo on their Jersey, the company said in a statement.
The company would gain significant brand exposure around the grounds in form in-stadium promotional methods such as perimeter electronic board branding, stadium electronic board static branding, it added.
Commenting on it, Haier Appliances (India) President Eric Braganza said: "This partnership allows Haier to conjoin the synergy of being a young and sporty brand with the aggression of a sport like football. We are ecstatic that we can now connect with our audience at a more personal level and enjoy the spirit of football together".
John Abraham said: "I am very happy with Haier coming on board to support the NEUFC club in our inaugural year. Our team is built on certain elements that are coherent to the brand's ethos, which makes it a perfect fit". PTI KRH

Wheels India 2qtr net profit grows 8.93% to Rs 9.51 Cr * Auto-component manufacturer Wheels India has witnessed a 8.93 per cent jump in its second quarter net profits ending September 30, 2014 at Rs 9.51 crore.
The Chennai-based TVS Group company, reported Rs 8.73 crore during the year ago period.
Revenues for the second quarter ended September 30, 2014 to Rs 516 crore as against Rs 469 crore registered during the same period of previous year.
"Commercial vehicle industry has shown double digit growth for us in the first half but it has not been a momentum changer. We expect third quarter to be sluggish.", Wheels India, Managing Director, Srivats Ram told reporters.
The CV segment for us should end up with growth because of the low base, he said.
On the exports front, the company registered a 20 per ecent increase in the revenues.
"Our export contribution to overall business also crossed 20 per cent. We are seeing signs of growth in aluminium wheels and tubeless truck wheels," he said.
The company would invest Rs 80-Rs 85 crore this year, of which 40 per cent of it, will be going towards capacity related investments especially for exports, he said.
To a query he said the company would invest on expanding the capacity of aluminium wheel produced at its Chennai plant which would be increased to 100,000 units from the existing 60,000 units.
On the technical agreement inked with Turkey based EGE Endustri last year for production of lift axles, he said, "the production would begin in January".
