Hamid Ansari releases book written by JNU professor

Former vice president Hamid Ansari today released a book written by noted sociologist Professor TK Oommen.
Sociology relates to all human sciences and in a diverse and complex society like ours, it necessitates a diligent study, he said.
Ansari was talking about the book 'Trials, Tribulations and Triumphs- Life and Times of a Sociologist'.
The ex-VP congratulated Oommen, a former professor in JNU, for his book and his "remarkable capacity" to invent English words and phrases to express himself.
Anecdotal in nature, the book provides insights into the functioning of the academic world through the discipline of sociology.
The-300 page biographical work was termed by Oommen a 'worm's view' of a sociologist and hoped that it would help the academicians and students in their pursuits with its insights.
