A hand grenade was recovered today from a dry fish market at Jagiroad in Morigaon district.
According to Morigaon Superintendent of Police Aynul Haque, the grenade was recovered this evening from the market by a patrolling team of the Assam Police and the CRPF.
He said some miscreants might had intentions to create panic in the area before the Independence Day celebrations in the district.
Explosive experts from the Army have been called in to defuse the bomb, he said.
The Police and CRPF have launched an operation in the area to nab the culprits, the SP added.
