Rakesh Kumar, a national-level handball player who hailed from Danauda village, was allegedly murdered on October 9 over the issue of a lost mobile phone.
In a meeting held in Rakesh's village which was attended by Binain khap representatives and other players, it was decided that the players would boycott the U-19 National Handball Competition being held between October 16-20 in Hyderabad.
The khap's Danauda Tapa Chief Bhagatram chaired the meeting where it was also decided that if the accused are not arrested till tomorrow evening the locals will block the national highway, khap spokesperson Balwan Nain said.
The delegation will also demand financial help for Rakesh's family and a job for one of his family members, he said.
Meanwhile, other players, including Rajat, Vikas, Ajay, Sonu, Sahil, Ankit, said they were anguished that no arrests were made in this connection even after four days due to which they have decided to boycott the Competition.
