Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today directed officials concerned to conduct a survey of railway lines in the district.
The officers have also been directed to submit proposals for construction of railway over and under bridges wherever required, Khattar said at a meeting with district officers here.
Urban Local Bodies Department officers have been asked to frame a policy for the recruitment of junior engineers through GATE, he said, adding this would accelerate the recruitment process and bring transparency.
The chief minister said tagging was being done in the state to tackle the menace of stray cattle.
A policy is being framed under which fine to the tune of Rs 5,000 would be imposed on those who abandon their cattle after they stop producing milk, he said.
On complaints of alleged corruption at lower levels of the government, the chief minister directed the officers to bring about improvement in their functioning and work culture, and to adopt the policies of the present dispensation to ensure good governance and put an end to corruption.
"The present state government is providing jobs in a transparent manner on merit basis without any discrimination. Therefore, employees, including officers, should discharge their duties in an honest and diligent manner.
"Strict action will be taken against those who are found indulging in corruption or neglecting their duties," he added.
