Har dept to launch campaign against open defecation

The Haryana Development and Panchayat Department would launch a week-long awareness campaign under the theme 'Khule Mein Shauch se Azadi' against the ill effects of open defecation starting from August 9.
During the week all districts would take up mass mobilisation events, an official spokesman said here today.
These will include rallies and human chains promoting 'Freedom from Open Defecation' by involving ODF champions, opinion leaders, youth, women and children, he said.
Special events would be organised at district, taluka and block levels to honour local sanitation champions, and screening of films and success stories for spreading awareness in the community, the spokesman said.

Speeches, quizes and sports activities would be organised for school students and youth around the theme of Swachhta. Political leaders, eminent personalities and local celebrities would be involved in these events, he said.
