Union Steel Minister Birender Singh has said that the Haryana government is working for the welfare of people by following the ideology of Sir Chottu Ram.
To apprise people about the ideology of the great leader and schemes of the Central and state governments 'Sir Chottu Ram Vikas Manch' has been set up under which committees from national to village levels will be set up, he said.
According to an official released here today, presiding over a meeting of Sir Chottu Ram Vikas Manch at Narwana in Jind district last evening Singh said Sir Chottu Ram had always worked for the welfare of farmers and the downtrodden.
"With the implementation of schemes for the welfare of the poor, the present government has proved in real sense that BJP alone can ensure all round development of the country," he said.
On demonetisation issue, he said the Narendra Modi government had taken the decision "for bringing economic uniformity in the country".
"This decision has not only kept a tap on corruption but also is proving a milestone in bridging the gap between the poor and the rich," the Union minister was quoted as saying in the release.
The Sir Chottu Ram Vikas Manch has been set up at state level and the committees for all five assembly constituencies of Jind district have been set up and district level committees would be constituted at the earliest, he said.
The Union Minister said that birth anniversary of Sir Chottu Ram would be observed in a befitting manner on February 1 at Sir Chottu Ram park, Narwana. A marathon would also be organised on this occasion.
