The Haryana government today announced a probe, to be conducted within a month, into the allegations regarding the awarding of contracts to the workers of power distribution companies without obtaining the valid bank guarantees.
"An enquiry would be conducted by ADGP or Vigilance within one month in power distribution companies in respect of the contracts for engagement of the workers awarded by their field officers in the last one year where contracts have been awarded without obtaining the valid bank guarantee," Haryana Power Minister Ajay Singh Yadav said.
Yadav was speaking in a meeting held here with the office bearers of All Haryana Power Corporation Workers Union.
He said that thereafter, action would be taken by the distribution companies against the delinquent contractor and power officials as per rules.
The minister also said that the wages to the contractual workers would be given as per the latest instructions issued by Haryana Chief Secretary.
According to the instructions, payment of the wages to the contractual engaged workers would be done on 50 per cent of the initial pay (pay in pay band + GD + DA) of the fresh entrant regular employee or on the wages fixed by the Deputy Commissioner under Minimum Wages Act, whichever is higher, he added.
