Hardcore criminals nabbed in Gzb

Two notorious criminals were arrested after an encounter and a car and firearms were recovered from their possession, police said today.
Acting on information provided by district control room, the two were arrested while their two accomplices fled the spot near Kadrabad police post Delhi-Meerut Road, police said.
SHO Modi Nagar Deepak Sharma said that last night a message flashed on wireless that some criminals are fleeing towards Modi Nagar after snatching a Swift car from Raj Nagar Extension area.
Police instantly barricaded the Delhi-Meerut road and started inspecting cars.
Around 11.20 PM, a police team at Kadrabad check post spotted a car coming from Ghaziabad and signaled it to stop for checking.

Instead of halting, the occupants travelling in the car fired at the police party and tried to flee away, he said.

The police party then retaliated in which one of them received a bullet injury on his leg.
During the encounter, two robbers fled away and two were nabbed by police along with robbed car.
Upon frisking, the police recovered two country-made pistol and six live cartridges.
The arrested criminals have been identified as Manish Jatav and Atul, both natives of Meerut.
They have a long criminal history and were wanted in two dozen cases of several districts, the officer said.
