The first-ever screenplay by Rowling is based on a new story by the author set in the United States, 70 years before the Harry Potter story begins and is centered around the character Newt Scamander, who is being played in the film by Academy award winning actor Eddie Redmayne.
Featuring an array of magical creatures and characters, the ebook and print editions of the screenplay is due to be published on November 19, the day after the film's global release by Warner Bros.
"We're incredibly excited to be publishing J K Rowling's screenplay of 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,' the first screenplay she has written and an entirely new story," David Shelley, CEO of Little, Brown Book Group said in a statement.
"This is such a big year for all fans of J K Rowling's Wizarding World and we are thrilled to be part of the team helping to bring it to readers," he said.
