The BJP government here would soon launch 'Haryana Antodaya Mission' to raise awareness about various welfare programmes launched by Centre and state for people who lose out on the benefits because of lack of information on the schemes.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, speaking during the 'Sant Kabir Jayanti Samaroh' here, said at present 45 welfare schemes of the state and Central government are being run for the welfare of people of all categories including those belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes.
"But, many people could not get the benefit of these schemes due to lack of awareness and other reasons," Khattar said.
The CM said out of five years tenure of his government, he would dedicate at least four years in serving the society and upliftment of backward, poor and those belonging to weaker sections.
There are sections in the society which follow the ideals of either Sant Kabir, Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar and Sant Ravi Dass and all have worked for the welfare of people, he said, according to an official statement.
Asserting that the reservation should be given only till those getting the benefit do not become a part of mainstream and said: "even Baba Saheb Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar had said that the benefit of reservation should be extended to an extent till the person standing in the last queue gets the benefit of various welfare schemes".
The chief minister lamented that even after 68 years of independence of the country "the people are still deprived of full benefit of reservation and this is because of the neglected attitude of the previous Central as well state governments towards this community."
He said that the state government is soon going to start the recruitment process to fill vacancies in various state departments.
"A transparent system has been put in place for the same which would be free from nepotism and regionalism. Talent would be promoted while the corrupt practice including black list, white list and under the table would be discouraged," he said.
Apart from this, industries, small and medium enterprises would be promoted in the state to encourage youth towards self -employment.
Meanwhile, Khattar inaugurated 'Jal Vitran Pariyojana' (Water Distribution Project) in Sector-1 here today thus completing the long pending demand of the people of area.
The water works have been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 77 crore.
Panchkula MLA Gian Chand Gupta, who was also present on the occasion, thanked the chief minister for dedicating this water project to district and said that with this, the people of the area could get 24 hour supply of drinking water.
