Haryana government today said the Budget session of state Legislative Assembly is likely to be held in the first week of March and will be the longest session as each MLA will be given an equal opportunity to raise constituency-wise issues.
"This budget session will be the longest session. Every Member of Legislative Assembly would be given equal opportunity to speak about problems of their constituencies," Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said here.
The minister also defended the increase in Value Added Tax on petrol to 25 per cent saying that it was lower than neighbouring states.
"Despite increase of VAT on petrol to 25 per cent today its price is lower as compared to the rates prevailing in the neighbouring states of Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh," he said.
To a query about the computer teachers, the minister said that the previous government under outsourcing policy had recruited about 2,600 teachers through three private companies.
"These companies had taken Rs 24,000 each from all teachers as security amount and also have not paid their salaries from the last 13 months.
"Principal Secretary, Education, T C Gupta is inquiring the matter," he said, adding that he was hopeful that the matter would be resolved soon.
Recruitment of teachers in large number would be done soon, he added.
