Discoms in Haryana have decided to put application and monitoring process online to bring efficiency and promptness in release of new connections, officials said today.
Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam have decided to put the application forms received for all new electricity connections of industrial category and connections for 20 kilowatt and above load of all other categories in the online process, they said.
A spokesperson for the Discoms said here that to bring efficiency and promptness in release of new connections, the senior officers of the utilities will now monitor the process of release of connections.
"Senior officials would be able to track the application and know the date of receipt of application form, various steps taken by different authorities in approving the release of connections, dates of release of connection and reasons in case a connection is not released in time," the spokesperson said.
In the first phase, industrial consumers and the consumers of all other categories seeking connection of 20 kilowatt or above would be able to submit their application forms for new electricity connection online.
The spokesperson said that through this system, the status of release of connections will be closely monitored at head office level and at the level of the managing director.
