Haryana forms committee to look into police reforms

A five-member committee has been constituted by the Haryana government to study the recommendations for police reforms, officials said today.
The committee was formed under the chairmanship of Keshni Anand Arora, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of Revenue Department to study the recommendations given in the report of Parkash Singh Committee for reforms in the police department, ACS, Home Department, Ram Niwas told reporters.
The committee held its first meeting today during which discussion was held on several aspects. It will submit its report in three months, he said.
The Committee comprises Ram Niwas, ACS, Development and Panchayats Department Navraj Singh Sandhu, Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department Mahavir Singh and Secretary, Chief Secretary Office Neerja Sekhar.
Replying to a question about action being taken by the state government against erring officers during the Jat agitation, Ram Niwas said two officers have been chargesheeted and erring officers would not be spared.
