A Programme Implementation Plan amounting to Rs 333 crore has been approved in a meeting of National Health Mission held under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Secretary D S Dhesi here today.
Approval was also given for registration of State Health Society, Haryana under the Foreign Currency Regulation Act under which adequate funds could be received from foreign countries, an official spokesman said.
It was informed in the meeting that 22 Special New Born Care Units (SNCU) and New Born Stabilisation Units were being run in the state.
As many as four Medical Officers would be deployed in each unit to cover round-the-clock services, he said.
Many of them are not opting for SNCU duties due to constraint of compulsory rural posting, he said.
"Therefore, they have been given exemption from rural services," he added.
Dhesi said that screening of different health conditions among children from birth to 18 years of age is being done under the 'Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram'.
The aim of the programme is to improve quality of life of children through early diagnosis, medical, surgical and therapeutic treatment, he said.
For screening of children, Mobile Health Teams with appropriate resources, vehicles and equipment are being deployed, he said.
Under this, now BPL families could get treatment at hospitals empaneled with Haryana Government, he added.
