The Haryana government today said its employees will not be entitled to mass casual leave for participating in dharnas, demonstrations, strikes and agitations.
In a circular issued by the General Administration department here today, it has been said that no mass casual leave will be allowed to the employees to participate in dharnas, demonstrations, strike or agitations, an official release said.
All administrative Secretaries, heads of departments, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Managing Director or Chief Executive Officer of Boards or Corporations and Registrars of the Universities in state have been asked to comply with the circular, it said.
It is mentioned in the circular that the state government resolves the genuine demands of the employees received from various employees unions or associations from time to time, it said.
Meanwhile, the Haryana government's move draw sharp reaction from the opposition.
INLD senior leaders Abhay Singh Chautala and Ashok Arora described the move as an attack on the "democratic and constitutional rights" of the employees to protest.
