While enhancing the scope of payments, the government has included contingencies like performances of their duties during natural calamities, elections and rescue operations, a spokesman of Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department said here today.
With effect from November 1, 2016, the ex gratia has been increased from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh in case of death occurring in war and action against militants or terrorists and during internal security duty, election duty, natural calamities and rescue operations, he said.
In case of disability between 25 per cent to 49 per cent, the rate of assistance has been enhanced from Rs five lakh to Rs 15 lakh.
The spokesman said the enhanced amount is applicable to those who were residents of Haryana at the time of joining the service.
