Haryana govt increases honorarium of village watchmen

The Haryana government has increased monthly honorarium of village watchmen from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,500.
This was announced by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda at a function of village chowkidars here today.
He also announced increase in their yearly uniform allowance from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000 and stick and battery allowance from Rs 500 to Rs 750 per year.
In addition, all chowkidars would be included under the state government's 'Aam Aadmi Bima Yojna (insurance policy)'.
