The government has also directed them to ensure the strict implementation of various provisions under Prevention of Cruelty of Animal Act, 1960.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Home Department said that it has been noted that a large number of camels were being transported from Rajasthan to Uttar Pradesh and other states for "illegal slaughter."
"Moreover, these were transiting and travelling through Haryana. The inhuman manner in which these animals were transported is clearly violating the provisions of the said Act and should be stopped with a firm hand while following the provisions of the law," the spokesman said.
The spokesman said that the district heads of police would also sent periodic reports regarding the action taken with regard to animals being transported in a manner violating the law.
