Ministers, MPs and MLAs of Haryana government will reach out to the masses in a bid to highlight the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's four years of governance as part of the 'Sampark for Samarthan' campaign.

Briefing the media after a meeting between the states' ministers and Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, minister Krishan Kumar Bedi said the campaign, initiated on May 26, will continue till June 11.

"Discussions were held at the meeting to reach out to the maximum number of people through Sampark se Samarthan programme initiated on the completion of four years of the BJP government at the Centre," the Minister of State for Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes said here.

"Ministers, MPs and MLAs would take the programme to the booth level," he added.

Bedi said discussions were held with the chief minister on a host of issues including the celebrations on the birth anniversaries of saints and national leaders.

"The Haryana government has decided to celebrate the birth anniversaries of Maharishi Valmiki, Sant Ravidas, Sant Kabir and Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar in the state," he said.

"Kabir Jayanti will be celebrated from June 25 to July 1 at the district level," he added.

On the continuous protests by state government employees, Bedi assured that the Khattar government was working for their welfare.

"The benefits of the Seventh Pay Commission are being given to the employees in government departments, boards and corporations," he said. Under the previous Congress government, benefits of the Fifth Pay Commission took years to reach them, he added.

Bedi highlighted that the issues of safai karamcharis of municipal corporations have already been solved. The state government has also decided to give weekly offs to police officials and daily wages of Home Guards have been increased from Rs 300 to Rs 572, which is equivalent to police officials, he said.
