Haryana offers UK to invest in state

Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma today offered United Kingdom (UK) to invest in the state in the field of skill development, technology, industrial development, renewable energy and solid waste management.
Sharma made the offer to Baroness Verma, Minister for Energy and Climate Change, UK who along with a delegation called on him here to discuss various issues of mutual interest, an official spokesman said.
He asked Baroness to explore the possibilities for setting up a project in mutual cooperation in the field power generation.
Baroness Verma thanked Sharma for this proposal and said that business houses of UK are keen to promote trade and investment in Haryana and for this, a delegation of UK investors will visit Haryana in the month of January 2015.
"We are aiming a long term future with Haryana", she added.
Sharma said that, there is lot of potential for mutual cooperation in the field of industrial development and technology as adequate quantity of material and plenty of manpower is available in Haryana.
The Education Minister said that solid waste management is another key area where mutual cooperation could go a long way.
He also enquired about the UK Companies having expertise in this field.
