Haryana will soon start a statewide Quality Improvement Programme covering 15,000 government schools to further improve learning level outcomes of students.
The initiative by Haryana's Education Department will benefit 27 lakh students and 1.25 lakh teachers, an official said.
The department has identified critical initiatives needing interventions and has formed dedicated teams for each of them, he said.
This project is envisaged to be a 3-5 year project where over time all 15,000 schools of the state will undergo the transformation and the entire state and district organisations will be oriented towards academic quality.
Also, a Programme Management Unit (PMU) has been set up for the overall project supervision and coordination.
He said that nine interventions have been recommended to bring about statewide education transformation which include measuring the problem and track progress, orienting the system towards academic quality, among others, he said.
Other measures include leadership training, management information system, communication and cultural transformation (though workshops), pedagogical changes and teacher training, infrastructure channeling, school merging/consolidation, teacher recruitment/deployment.
He said that private organisations or NGOs who have a proven track record and a qualified team in the area would be eligible for the same.
