"We are keeping a close watch on the situation and have taken steps to ensure that interests of Sikh farmers' in Gujarat are protected and justice is done to them," he said in a statement here.
A delegation of Haryana and Punjab Congress leaders including Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda had met Prime Minister Mammohan Singh recently and apprised him of the alleged discrimination meted out to Sikh farmers in Gujarat.
"The farmers developed the land and settled there. But, after having nurtured the land for decades, they were told in 2010 by the Narendra Modi-government that they had no right on their land," he said.
