Anita Raj's son Shivan Hingorani is set to make his directorial debut soon and the former Bollywood actress says she has asked him for a role in his movie.
Shivam, the son of the 52-year-old actress and filmmaker Sunil Hingorani, has served as assistant director on films like "Agneepath" and "Ye Jawani Hain Deewani".
Anita, who was last seen on the big screen 2012 film "Chaar Din Ki Chandni", said she would love to star in her son's maiden directorial venture.
"He is planning to make a film this year. I definitely want to be a part of the project. I have asked him for a role as well," Anita told PTI.
The actress will be next seen in a new TV show titled " Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani", which is a love story about a king and a common girl set against the backdrop of the pre-independence era of the 1940s.
"I play Rajmata, the king's mother on the show. It is a very positive character. It is unlike anything I have done till date. Its unique story made me say yes to the project," Anita said.
For her character, the actress has taken inspiration from Maharani Gayatri Devi.
"She is a role model for every woman. I have taken cues from her life for this character... She is an inspiration," the actress said.
Anita was also part of the first season of Anil Kapoor's thriller series "24" and she said she wants to focus on TV projects at the moment.
"Right now I am very happy doing TV. I don't want to do films, but if anything interesting comes my way then I will think about it."
"Ek Tha Raja Ek This Rani" also features Drashti Dhami, Siddhant Karnik, Darshan Zariwala, Surekha Sikri and Moon Bannerjee. The show will air from July 27 on Zee TV.
