"With the passing away of Manna Dey, India has lost one of her greatest musicians and Saregama India its priceless Kohinoor," Sanjiv Goenka, Saregama India Ltd chairman, said.
"A great artist, Manna Dey stood like the incomparable Qutab Minar and we at Saregama gratefully recall his contribution to music and pay our humble tribute to a great artist who was also a great human being," he said.
The relationship with HMV (now Saregama) began in 1953 when Manna De cut his first album with HMV.
Saregama said the last Bengali album was 'Thik Chhabir Moto' in 2006.
