Have solid evidence to prove innocence, claims Tomar

Delhi Law Minister Jitendra Singh Tomar, who has been accused of possessing a fake educational degree, today claimed he has "solid evidence" to prove his innocence in the case.
Slamming BJP for doing "politics" over the issue, Tomar said with the evidence he got through RTI, he would silence the saffron party.
"As the matter is sub judice, I cannot reveal my stand in public now. But I want to assure that I have solid evidence which I got through RTI which is enough to prove my innocence. Once I put these evidence in the court, it will silence BJP," he said.

A Bihar-based university, from where Tomar claimed to have done his law education, had told Delhi High Court recently that his provisional certificate is "fabricated and does not exist in the institution's record".
Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay has demanded the arrest of Law Minister for allegedly furnishing "fake" provisional certificate of his law degree.
Earlier in the day, a delegation of party leaders led by Upadhyay met Police Commissioner B S Bassi, demanding that an FIR be registered and action taken against Tomar for possessing "fake" degrees.

"We presented documents including the Bar Council complaint and papers of Awadh University and Bhagalpur University proving Tomar's degrees were fabricated," Upadhyay told reporters here.

"Kejriwal, who talked of high standards and morality, is keeping his eyes shut in Tomar's case," he said.
The Congress has been insisting on Tomar's dismissal as Minister and has also asked for his resignation as member of the Delhi Legislative Assembly.
The AAP Minister has already rejected charge of any wrongdoing and refused to step down.
