Popular singer Arijit Singh has rubbished reports that he has opted out of the reality show "India's Raw Star" and says the project is merely delayed.
There were reports that the "Tum Hi Ho" hitmaker quit the Star Plus show as apparently he did not want anybody else around him on the series who is connected to music.
Asked about this, Arijit told PTI, "No I haven't opted out. It has been postponed. They had a slot in September and it took so long because of meetings that we didn't have the time to do creative work.
"The channel has to do something in the slot which is going to be empty. But we can't ready the episodes after shooting them. So we have postponed. Now something else will happen in the slot," he added.
Previous edition of the singing-reality show featured rapper Honey Singh as a mentor.
The 29-year-old singer, who was supposed to replace Honey for the current season, says everyone in the team is "depressed" that the show won't start this year.
"I didn't walk out of the show. We are in fact working on it to figure out when to do it. Yes, all of us are a little depressed because we had already started working on it. We shot the promo, and a lot of things were locked creatively...
"The date hasn't been fixed yet. I don't think anything will happen before November," Arijit said.
Reportedly, actress Shraddha Kapoor is also in talks to appear on the show.
