A 34-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death at Delhi's G B Road here, police said today.
Known to be a red-light area, police is suspecting involvement of some pimps in this connection and some of them have been detained for questioning.
The victim Ishtiaq Ahamad was a resident of Nabi Karim of Central Delhi, and used to sell handbags, hawking on the roads.
He was spotted with a pimp before he was found dead in the Red Light area last night. However, his body was found away from the brothels and police was trying to find out what was he doing in the area.
He was found in a critically injured condition by the locals and was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
It was suspected that Ishtiaq entered into some argument that lead to fight and his killing by the yet to be identified murderer, said a police officer.
A case of murder was registered at Kamla Market police station and the hunt was on for arresting the accused.
In another case, a 25-year-old man identified as Deepak alias Deepu was stabbed to death allegedly by a murder accused after the victim came to the rescue of a girl who was being beaten by the latter in east Delhi's Shakarpur area here yesterday evening.
Deepak worked as an office boy at a private company in the same area. The suspect identified as Appu, who is an accused in a murder case. Police said that at about 5.30 pm on Sunday Deepak was standing near his house when he saw Appu beating a girl.
On this, he intervened and asked Appu to stop. Appu turned to Deepak and started quarreling with him and it soon turned into scuffle. In a fit of rage, Appu took out a knife and stabbed Deepak before escaping from the spot.
A local shopkeeper made a call to the PCR after which the police reached the spot and Deepak was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead by the doctors.
