The Madras High court Bench here today dismissed a "petition filed on behalf of" some scavengers seeking to recruit them for Rasipuram Municipality after it was found to be fake.
Justice S Nagamuthu, dismissing the "petition filed by" 11 persons, directed Tamil Nadu Bar Council to hold a detailed inquiry into the matter. If the Bar Council found that the persons mentioned as advocates in the petitions were fake, they should take necessary action through police by forwarding appropriate complaint.
"The Bar Council is permitted to get copies of relevant documents from the Registry and file Action Taken Report" before the Registry on December 1, the court said.
The Judge said as the persons mentioned as advocates for the petitioners did not appear despite repeated adjournments from March 23, the court conducted an inquiry.
It was found that petitions did not contain the official and residential addresses of M Saravanan and C Ravi, mentioned as advocates in the petitions and their signatures were anomalous.
Deputy superintendent of Police who conducted an inquiry also filed a report to the court that there were no such advocates in Rasipuram. The registration number given by the advocates were also found to be fake.
The persons mentioned as "petitioners" also did not appear for two or three hearings. This raised doubt whether there was some manipulation.
The Judge said "there is some mystery about".
