dismissed a petition challenging the election of one of the convicted in a criminal case as Chairman of Dharmapuri District Milk Producers Cooperative Union, Krishnagiri.
Justice S.Manikumar dismissed the petition filed by P.Theerthamalai following submission by the Additional Advocate General that D K Rajendran, an accused in the Dharmapuri Bus burning case, has resigned from all the posts held in the society as on October 5.
The petitioner challenged the election of Rajendran on the ground that he was one of the accused in the bus burning case in which three students were burnt alive in 2000 during the violence that broke out to protest conviction of Jayalalithaa in the Pleasant Stay Hotel case.
