HC direct DMDK party to apply to police for security

Observing that an omnibus order cannot be passed that all the 17 district police authorities should provide security to DMDK leader Vijaykant, Madras High Court today directed the party to apply for it to each district police offices.
Justice P N Prakash gave the direction to DMDK Deputy General Secretary Pandyan who sought a direction to police to grant permission for celebrating the birth day celebrations of the party leader, scheduled to be conducted in various districts from October seven to ten.
Counsel for the petitioner V T Balaji submitted that Vijayakat is the leader of opposition in the assembly with the cabinet rank of a minister and adequate security should be provided to him.

An omnibus order cannot be ordered to all 17 district Police authorities , the judge said asking the petitioner to to submit applications to each district police officers and directed to consider of providing adequate police security at the time of meetings.
