The Madras High Court today
directed the Chairman, Teachers Recruitment Board, to permit one of the aspirants who applied for the post of graduate teacher to participate in 'certificate verification' as and when it commences.
Passing interim orders on a plea filed by M Yuvaraj of Baluchetti Chatram of Kancheepuram District, Justice N Kirubakaran also ordered issue of notice to the Secretary, School Education Department and the Chairman TRB returnable by two weeks.
Yuvaraj, who belongs to Most Backward Class community, had taken the Tamil Nadu Teachers Eligibility Test (TNTET) and secured 89 marks out of 150 in Paper II but was not declared successful candidate as the qualifying mark was 90.
He claimed that the Board had mentioned some key answers wrongly and he had apprised it. He had said that if those marks were taken into account, he could have got 92 in the exam. He further submitted that the High Court had already issued several directions to the TRB that mistakes should not be committed in the preparation of key answers and setting question papers.
He said for the fault committed by the Board candidates should not be penalised and prayed that he be declared as qualified in TNTET by awarding three marks and consequently permit him to participate in the certificate verification to the post of Graduate Teacher (Mathematics) for his appointment.
