HC directs producers of film to stop screening

The Madras High Court today directed the producers of the Tamil movie "Muthuramalingam" to stop further screening of the film released on February 24.
The direction was given by Justice P Velmurugan on a petition by the proprietor of 'Yahoo Finance Consultant M V Prakash, who had financed the film, and complained about the producers having not paid him back.
He filed an application before the court claiming the loan of Rs 28,55,000 extended by him had not been repaid as promised by the producers. The court had on February 24 directed the producers to pay him Rs 29 lakh.

In his plaint, Prakash submitted that the producers went ahead with the release of the film, starring Goutham Karthik, Nepolian and Priya Anand, without complying with the court order.
