HC dismisses petition by DMK MLA

The Madras High Court today dismissed a petition filed by DMK MLA of Thiruchendur constituency Anitha Radhakrishnan to reject an election petition filed against him.
Dismissing the application, Justice K Ravichandra Babu said the allegations made in the election petition filed by rival AIADMK candidate Manohar was maintainable and it cannot be rejected.
In the elections held for Tamil Nadu assembly in 2011 Anitha Radhakrishnan was declared elected.
Manohar filed a petition in the High Court with several allegations of malpractices in the election and prayed to declare the poll as null and void.
