Granting bail to Rahul Dhoka, Justice P Devadass said the accused came forward to provide compensation to the victim. Already Rs 50,000 was paid to the parents of the kid towards medical Expenses. A demand draft for Rs 5 lakh has also been given to the family of the child by father of Rahul.
"The petitioner appears to be a decent man. He understood the feelings and sufferings of the boy's family", the judge said.
Hrithik Roshan, an LKG student was seated on a pavement and was being fed snacks by his mother Geetha in a primary school when the accident took place on July 3.
Rahul's car came roaring out of an apartment complex next to the school and drove into the pavement on which Roshan was sitting. Before coming to a stop, the car hit Roshan and his mother. The boys' father was standing nearby.
Rahul was arrested the same day. While granting bail, the judge directed Rahul to execute a bond for Rs 15,000 with two sureties for like sum.
The Judge also made it clear that the amount paid by the petitioner is an "independent compensation". The victim's family is entitled for any other compensations as per Motor icles Act.
