The bench of Justice Rajan Gupta fixed November 7 as the next date of hearing in the case.
Junaid's father Jalaluddin through his counsel Arshdeep Singh Cheema had filed a petition on October 26, seeking a probe by an independent agency such as the CBI in the case.
The petitioner had also demanded stay on the trial ongoing in a Faridabad court in the case.
"The court today heard the arguments on a petition, seeking independent probe in the case," Cheema said.
His body was dumped close to Asaoti village in Faridabad and the trial is going on in a court in the district.
The HC has allowed the examination of official witnesses in the case in the Faridabad court on Monday, Cheema said.
After the plea of Junaid's father, the HC had issued a notice to the CBI and the Haryana government.
