Expressing dissatisfaction over the progress of probe into the case relating to the death of the brother of former DMK minister K N Nehru, the Madras High Court today sought to know what was wrong in transferring the case to CBI, as demanded by the wife of the deceased.
"It is three years since the murder took place. CB-CID police have not arrested any person. They were using the old technology during investigation," Justice S Nagamuthu said.
He directed the government advocate to get government's instructions and posted the case for hearing to tomorrow.
Latha Ramajayam, wife of the deceased K N Ramajayam, had moved the court, seeking a CBI probe into the murder of her husband, which was being handled by CB-CID, Tiruchirapalli.
She submitted there had been no progress in the three- year-old case. Earlier, CB-CID had claimed that they were close to nabbing the accused and had sought time and hence the case was posted for hearing today.
When the case came up today, the judge was not satisfied with the progress made by CB-CID and sought to know what was wrong in directing the CBI to investigate the case.
Latha(48) said her husband was an entrepreneur and dealt in granites and real estate. He had gone for a walk on March 29, 2012. His body was later found on the banks of the Cauvery near Tiruchirapalli.
A case was registered by police and it was entrusted to CB-CID. But the case had not witnessed any concrete investigation so far, she said.
