At a meeting convened by the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) it was decided that "advocates would continue to abstain from judicial work tomorrow in protest against the state government's abominable dithering over the issue of removal of DM Bhavnath Singh and SSP Deepak Kumar".
"The HCBA demands that these two officials must be transferred with immediate effect and to press the demand all members would remain on strike tomorrow," the Association said in a statement.
The lawyers have been abstaining work in protest against the killing of 30-year-old advocate Nabi Ahmed, who was shot dead on Wednesday inside the district court premises by a sub-inspector of police.
The further toughening of stance comes on a day marked by country-wide disruption of judicial work on the issue following a strike called by the Bar Council of India.
