Justice V.Ramasubramanian and Justice V.M.Velumani ordered notice to the officials, including Education Secretary, returnable within four weeks when the petition by a private teacher came up for hearing.
Petitioner A.Prabhakar, a teacher in Pudukottai, submitted the government had not taken into consideration various demerits of the weightage system which would affect the right to employment.
Besides for biology and vocational group students, practical marks were given, for which the commerce group students were not eligible.
He submitted that for the recruitment of P.G.Assistants, weightage was given only for Seniority and teaching experience, which had not been done in the case of the graduate assistants.
Hence the court should stay the May 30, 2014 G.O giving weightage of marks for Higher secondary, graduate, B.Ed etc,and also quash the order, he submitted.
