HC order issue of notices to Pondicherry university

The Madras High Court has ordered issue of notice toPondicherry University on a PIL seeking adirection to the institution and its Controller of Examinations to publish in their Website detailsof the academic performance and ranking of all the 18 engineering colleges affiliatedto the university.
The PIL also sought details of students appeared for the examinationsduring 2015-16, and students passed and pass percentage.
The bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice R Mahadevan directed the University and the Controller of Examinations to file their reply within a weeks time.
Stating that he isa permanent resident of Puducherry and his daughterhad passed Higher Secondary Course during the academic year 2014-16 and due tonon-publication of Academic Performance of Engineering Colleges affiliated toPondicherry University, he was not able to admit his daughter in any one of the colleges affiliated to it. Puducherry University and against the wishes of his familymembers, he was constrained to admit his daughter in Sri Sairam Engineering Collegeaffiliated to Anna University,in Tamil Nadu during the academic year 2015-16.
