Justice Hasnain Masoodi quashed the PSA order against Geelani after hearing the counsel for the Hurriyat hawk and the state government.
Geelani was detained under the PSA in June 2010 at the peak of the summer unrest. He was subsequently released on parole in view of his deteriorating health.
The separatist leader had last year filed a petition before the High Court after he was repeatedly put under house arrest.
He had sought directions from the court that he be allowed free movement.
The state government in February this year had informed the court that Geelani had been released on parole in August 2010 and it intends to operate the PSA detention order. PTI MIJ KUN RKC
