The Orissa High Court today reserved its order on the bail plea of BJD MP Ramachandra Hansda, arrested for his alleged role in a ponzi scam involving cheating and embezzlement of funds.
Justice S K Mishra reserved order on Hansda's bail plea after hearing arguments by counsel for both the Mayurbhanj MP and the CBI, which had arrested him in November 2015.
Elected on a BJD ticket from the Mayurbhanj (ST) Lok Sabha constituency in 2014, Hansda was arrested on charges of criminal conspiracy, cheating and diversion of funds while he was the director of Nabadiganta Capital Services, a ponzi company.
While Hansda has been in CBI custody for more than two years now, his constituency has gone unrepresented in Lok Sabha for last 29 months.
