The vacation bench of Justice Vijay Laxmi dismissed an appeal filed by a convict Jag Mohan of Malihabad, in which he had challenged the fast track court's judgement.
A Lucknow fast track court had found Jag Mohan guilty of offences of rape and outraging the modesty of a minor, sentenced him to seven years rigorous imprisonment and slapped him with a fine of Rs 2,100.
According to prosecution, on October 22, 2009 the victim had gone to a farm for harvesting the crop when the convict raped her.
The court rejected Jag Mohan's contention that the conviction on the basis of uncorroborated testimony of the victim was not correct and upheld the conviction and sentence.
